At its founding, NXT was intended to serve as a farm system (developmental territory) for WWE’s main roster, but over time wrestling pundits and fans came to view it as its own distinct entity, and it eventually became a global brand in its own right, establishing itself as WWE’s third major “Triple Crown” brand
